We are excited to announce that SC9 has collaborated with Ged Wells, founder of the British skate brand Insane. Ged has created a piece of art in his unique style which we will be launching at our Yorkshire Ram Skate Jam at Mags on Ramps. We'll have live band, Call Me Vicky, playing on the top of the bowl, mini competitions, merch stands, cake stalls and prizes!
A great way to raise funds for SC9 Skate School!

Local Skate Spots
Spring is here - time to take your skills outside. Here's a list of local skateparks we rate.
Meltham Skatepark; our favourite. Features: half pipe, bowl, roller, spine, volcano, steps and ledges. Its got a bit of everything!
Marsden Skatepark. Found at the back of Stanedge car park by the train station, it's small so finding it quiet is a luxury. It's mellow and flowy. There's also a flat-ground area with a few curb stones and features to practise grinds and ledge tricks.
Sands Skatepark. Opposite Holmfirth Leisure Centre. There's half a bowl, small, medium and large flatbanks, stair set, ledges and my favourite; a small quarter with no coping and a mellow transition. If you've dropped in our 1ft, you can already do this!
Gregory Fields, Kirkburton. Features super-fun rollers, small spine, small bowls. It gets busy but the kids up there are well mannered and polite.

Gregory Fields, Kirkburton Newsome Skatepark. Takes a bit of finding, worth it as it has massive features. It's off Newsome Road but if you park on Roger Lane and walk through Ashenhurst Recreation Ground, its on the left hidden by trees.

Newsome Skatepark Barnsley's new skatepark
I'm sure you've all heard about Barnsley's new skatepark. 100 meters from Barnsley train station, this concrete dreamland has everything including a pump track. If you haven't already - go check it out!
